Incas in Bolivia

The Incas were a tribe in Andean region of South America that was around for thousands of years (wsu.edu). Being that they were in the Andean region, they have influenced the country of Bolivia greatly. A big part of the Bolivian culture has been made from Incan influence. The Incan civilization started around the twelfth century (Incas). They had their own distinct language and religious beliefs. By the sixteenth century they had become the biggest empire in the Western Hemisphere and the empire contained over one million individuals (wsu.edu). They had the most territory in South America, land that stretched from Ecuador to the Northern Chile. The Incas, unlike many tribes in their area and time, were not based on war and enslavement, but when they defeated a tribe they would make them apart of their empire (Incas). In 1521, Francisco Pizarro was able to successfully conquer the Incas.
